In spite of the bad weather and the government prohibiting pro-Palestine protests in Paris, people all over France showed their support for the people of Palestine in the streets. Unlike Paris, the rally held in Lyon was not directly repressed by the police. Clashes occurred however by the end of the protest with tear gas being used,there is also evidence that rubber rounds were shot. In spite of the claims that such protests were an occasion for antisemitic hate speech by elected officials, many of the speakers actually called for unity between Jewish and Palestinian people against Israel. So far France is the only country in the world that has prohibited pro Palestine protests a'd the only country that has harshly repressed them aside from Israel itself.
