France - Île-de-France - Paris
This was the first Yellow Vest protest in six months following the first lockdown. It was a nationwide rally in Paris that gathered several thousands of people. The police were encircling the march and without any obvious reason often stopped it for up to half an hour. As the protesters were getting impatient about it the police took it as an excuse to club them. Most of the photographers were gathered between the police line and the protesters on a bench. When the police charge happened I remember being stuck between the two sides. Even though I wanted to run away in fear I remembered that I had to tell the world about what was going on.
