Strasbourg - Grand Est - France
The protests and demonstrations against the retirement reforms in France took a nasty turn at some point. This photo was taken minutes after something exploded in front of the place de Zurich. Whatever exploded culminated into tiny fires, including the one here at the center . The street became closed off. France's prime minister at the time was a woman. The reform became law. Is this kind of protest something, which will disappear, intensify, or stay, if women were in charge in the world? Given the sheer fear over the violence which it could represent, is it something women tolerate or not? I photographed from a very short distance. But what if I hadn't ?
