Paris - Île-de-France - France
As usual, people of all left-leaning political positions gathered all over France to protest and celebrate on International Worker's day. In Paris the protest was divided into two groups : mainstream left wing organizations and autonomous protesters. Clashes between the later group and the police broke out as soon as the protest started moving towards Nation's square with tear gas and stun grenades being used. After a second round of intense clashes the police retreated for about an hour letting protesters unsupervised. Some looting and vandalism ensued as the march continued (we got free food and flowers lol). After setting ablaze some barricades the police came into action and effectively separated the autonomous protesters from the mainstream political organizations beating up and arresting several people in the process. By Nation's square, when both groups had to reunite, the police charged both crowds and used tear gas, rubber rounds and stun grenades while arresting several people.
