Ankara - Ankara - Turkey
Seasonal workers come from the provinces in the southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey to other provinces for three to six months to work in the fields. These seasonal workers live in tents in primitive conditions. When I visited this camp for the first time during the pandemic last year, the municipality left hygiene materials and promised clean water. When I visited again a year later, there were 13 families living in the camp. Most of them had been vaccinated because everyone in Turkey can be vaccinated without waiting in line. Those who didn't get vaccinated could not find time to go to the hospital because of their work. These 13 families have 30 school-age children. Only one of the 13 families in the camp has a laptop, and it has been broken for a long time, so the children cannot benefit from distance education. I photographed the children in the camp with their favorite objects to highlight the impact of the pandemic on the children of seasonal workers. I took the photos using a mosquito net inside one of the tents. I wanted to remove the models from their natural environment and draw attention to them. As part of the series, I took 10 different shots with 10 different children.
