Mit dem Fotografieren habe ich eigentlich ziemlich spät angefangen. Nach dem Kunst- und Design-Studium habe ich erst mal 25 Jahre lang Architektur illustriert. Das hat mich künstlerisch geprägt, denn: Es bestimmt die Art und Weise, wie ich tagtäglich um mich schaue - Wie fällt ein Schatten? Wie verändern sich Farben im Schatten oder der Sonne? Wie genau sehen Schatten von Bäumen aus? Wie spiegeln sich Dinge (z.B. in Glasflächen)? Welche Details machen Architektur interessant?...... Mit dieser Art des Sehens hört man niemals mehr auf. Ich laufe durch den Tag und 'scanne' meine Umgebung - immer und ständig. Es war also nur logisch und konsequent, irgendwann die Dinge auch im Foto festzuhalten. Am meisten interessieren mich allerdings - ich muss es gestehen - die Brüche, die scheinbar unwichtigen Details, das Banale, die Kleinigkeiten am Rande....... I actually started taking pictures quite late. After studying art and design, I first illustrated architecture for 25 years. That shaped me artistically, because: It determines the way I look around me every day - How does a shadow fall? How do colors change in the shade or the sun? What exactly do shadows from trees look like? How are things reflected (e.g. in glass surfaces)? What details make architecture interesting? ...... You never stop with this way of viewing. I run through the day and 'scan' my surroundings - always and constantly. So it was only logical and consistent to record things in the photo at some point. But what interests me most - I have to admit it - are the breaks, the apparently unimportant details, the banal, the minor details .......
