This is Francisca, my grandmother, a woman I admire greatly. She left the Northeast of Brazil for the Southeast of the country, where her journey was not easy at all. She was recently married, with small children and with an immense desire to have a better and dignified life. She was brave and remained firm on her journey. Afterwards, unfortunately, she suffered from alcohol addiction for years, but she had to be strong and make a choice to stop and stay alive. This photo was taken in her house, which is currently abandoned, with the intention of portraying, reflecting and remembering all the good times and the bad times she lived.
