The Plaosan Temple - located in the regency of Klaten, Central Java - Indonesia. This is a Buddhist temple built in the 9th century which combines Hindu and Buddhist architecture. The temple was built by Rakai Pikatan (a Hindu) as a gift to his wife - Pramudyawardani who is a Buddhist. The temple complex is made up of 174 small buildings - 116 are stupas and 58 are shrines.
