Lebanon - Beirut Governorate - Beirut
The series was taken after the explosion and represents moments of isolation away from the chaos of the city. After losing my home because of the explosion, it was very hard for me to document the ruined city and I found solace in the silent and beautiful moments in it or somewhere far away. From my own personal experience, I learnt that, essentially, we are all alone but somehow united with our pain and the coping mechanisms of escaping to the empty shore, the vast sea, the continuous road, the breezy balcony, or the rural landscape. This image is about long lonesome walks by the beach in Beirut that have become a tool to deal with the isolation that accompanies experiencing Lebanon’s many crises. #Shiftbeirut
