In the lake Titikiaka in the border of Peru and Bolivia there are some intact islands which still keep their traditional life style , two of these islands are Uros Island and Amantani . Uros Island is a man-made island floating on water that is made of reed blocks. The outer surface of the islands is covered with several layers of dry reeds, and every two weeks they have to renew these reeds so that the islands do not sink into the water, and sometimes they have to work harder due to the increase in tourists. Houses, boats and many other items are also made of reeds.
