4 August 2020, at 18:06, a large part of the extraordinary Beirut was blown away when a massive explosion devastated the seaport of Beirut, caused by the inflammation of tones of Ammonium Nitrate, a highly explosive chemical, randomly stored just few meters away from residential areas. It killed around 200 people, injured 7500, damaged 15 Billion dollar worth of property, and rendered an estimated 300,000 people homeless. In the aftermath, I wandered every day through the damaged neighborhoods of the capital, helping people I had never met before, but that I became to consider as family. During my trips, I captured with my lens what I think makes us, Lebanese, deeply broken yet united.
