Aare Ware Beach, Ratnagiri I feel like the pandemic really changed how we think about life. This photo was clicked around Feb 2020 when the Covid 19 was just starting to be known in India. We were travelling, happy and kind of in the natural element as they say. Then the pandemic kicked in and the country was in lockdown, I had too much time on my hands with nothing to do. The option to go out with friends and make myself feel better was gone and all those basic mental health problems that we generally sweep under rugs were rearing their heads, anxiety, feeling lonely and just a sense of misdirection. I think this image weirdly taken on a fine sunset before the pandemic conveys for me the sense of emptiness that we have all felt at sometime in our lives. Nothing is same after the pandemic and the image I think aptly displays ' The ghosts of our past '.
