In 2014, I planned, styled, and created one thought-provoking photograph per week, inspired by a song. A project that I entitled, 52weeks 52songs. I selected the songs based on the significance they played at different points in my life. Inspired by my desire to translate those songs and moments into photographs, capturing the image they created in my mind. The project created a nuanced collection of 52 photographs each telling a different story on the journey of becoming me. This photo is related to the song 'Nothing really matters' by Madonna, a simple sentence but with a lot of meaning. No matter what others say or do, while at the end we have ourselves. Respect yourself.
