The Rhein-Main area is an important hub for German wine production. Many of the most famous German vinters have their home there. Wine is incredibly important especially in Mayence, but also to all the small towns and villages in the area. Nearly ever single one of them has their own wine festival – each trying to do something unique and outperform the neighbouring village of course. For the people living scattered across this part of the Germany, wine isn't just a beverage. It's an all encompassing lifestyle.
